The meaning

We did not name our house after a fabric, or a founder. We named it after a feeling.

Beyond the weave lies a warmth — the quiet comfort of being embraced by what you love.

In almost every home, there is a saree loved so deeply it stays unworn.

Amma's wedding silk. The one she kept for a day that mattered. Too precious to risk, too irreplaceable to wear — so it waits in a trunk, folded away, safe but unseen.

A cloth this beautiful was never meant to fade in darkness.

It was meant to be worn again.

Tirupati

Muripem began in Tirupati — a town where devotion is woven into everyday cloth, and a saree is never only a saree.

We grew up watching our mother's wedding saree rest in a trunk: too sacred to wear, too loved to let go. One day, we realised the memory was not being kept safe. It was being kept hidden.

Muripem was born not from a legacy, but from a longing to let the cloth that raised us live again.

Bespoke

Heirloom Couture

You bring us cloth heavy with history.

We give it a second life — a bespoke garment, made to be worn today.

Nothing is mass-produced. Nothing is ever repeated.

The saree you place in our hands can never be replaced, and neither can the piece we shape from it.

We do not destroy a memory to make something new.
We let the memory become it.

Four bespoke lines, each born of a bond.

Amma Cheera

The saree she once wore on her own most precious day — reborn for yours. Her drape, reimagined as the silhouette you'll step into: shaped to who you are, carrying her exactly where you want her close.

She is not watching from the front row.
She arrives with you — woven into every thread.

Heirloom silk being conserved

We treat your cloth the way a museum treats a relic and the way you treat a memory.

We learn where the silk has thinned, and the zari loosened before we ever touch it. We test only in secret, on a seam no eye will find. Old cloth is never scrubbed, only coaxed. And its soul is kept untouched: the border, the pallu, the part you'd know in the dark — so what returns is unmistakably yours.

Where it has grown fragile, we lend it strength — so a cloth that survived decades survives decades more.

Others see fabric to be cut.
We see a life to be protected.

The difference

An ordinary tailor

  • Measures the fabric
  • Works on any machine
  • Cuts to begin
  • Follows a pattern
  • Hands back a garment

muripem

  • Reads its age, tests its strength, maps every fragile thread
  • Conserves by hand, the way a relic is restored
  • Cuts nothing until you have seen and approved the design
  • Creates one piece that will never exist again
  • Returns an heirloom, with every offcut preserved for the next generation

From the first conversation to the final fold, every piece is crafted exclusively for you.

01

A private consultation

We listen to your cloth and your story before a single measure is taken.

02

A conservation plan

The fabric's age, zari and weak points mapped, so nothing precious is ever put at risk.

03

A bespoke design

Drawn to your body and your occasion, approved by you before anything is cut.

04

The hand of a master

Finished by karigars trained across decades, never rushed, never duplicated.

05

The homecoming

Delivered in a keepsake box with preserved offcuts, the hand-written story of your cloth.

Between the heirloom too sacred to wear and the couture house too distant to understand it, there has only ever been silence.

Muripem is that missing piece, where emotion, craft, & luxury finally meet.

For the family with a memory folded away.
For those far from home, longing to carry a piece of it.
For the child ready to wear what a parent once held closest.

A house of one for the pieces that are one of one.

Rahul, founder of Muripem

I began Muripem with my mom's saree, and a feeling I could not put down.

I make you one promise: your cloth will be handled as if it were my own mother's. Understood before it is touched. Protected before it is shaped. Returned to you as something your children will long to inherit.

Bring me your memory. I will help it live again.

An Invitation

Bring us a saree, and a story.

We will return a piece your family wears for generations.
